I recently bought an item at debenhams (within last 28 days), and now it's in the sale. Well, I had to ask them, as the item I bought is unused, and they said I can take it back with my receipt, get a full refund and buy the item back at the sale price. Worth doing imho

if im gonna buy owt from debenhams i buy it on my card and then pay it straight off, i pay the 1% acount protection and that means that if the item is reduced within a year even if ive used it, i get the difference refunded. its great if you need a particular item for a particular occasion and then its reduced down the line, you get soem cash back!!:T The best things in life are FREE! :T0

hi freebie - which card is this? do you have to tell them that the item has been reduced? what evidence do you have to give? thanks:)0

deb - freebiejunkie is referring to the debenhams storecard. Its a high APR but it doesn't matter of course if you pay it off in full. You can have it with or without the account protection (which costs 1% of the balance on the card at the end of every month) which includes protection from it reducing in a future sale/price cut as well as other things.
They won't automatically refund the price drop - you'll have to go and point it out to them if you see it in a sale. They know if an item has been reduced since you bought it, since everything you buy is recorded against the storecard so they can just look it up on that. And they obviously know what price the item currently is in the sale.
I've got one. But mine comes with around 20% discount off everything in store, staff discount is great innit (I don't work there! My Fiance does!)DONE: Great North Run 09! Raised £452 for the National Autistic Society

i dont understand how I actually get the money refunded if I have bought it on my storedcard. Do I take in my statement to the store or do I ring up? And does it mean I have to keep all my old statements?0

I used to work at debenhams so i can help here!!!! If your local store still has a 'Customer Service' Till then take in your old statement/receipt (reciept is probably better as items are 'bulked on your statement - but they are broken down on the computer screen) and you have to fill a form in that gets send off and the diff refunded back to your card. If you havent got a CS Section anymre, telephone the nu,ber thats printed on the back of your monthly statement and they will do it with you over the telephone.
Hope that helps!!MSE has changed me for the better!!DD1 arrived 15/5/11, ]:money:0 -
