hi
any ideas how to use up mashed neeps, tatties, lots of spiced braised red cabbage and some roast duck meat...
i was thinking a bubble and squeak type thing, with the duck fried up served with left over gravy....
any other suggestions?
no haggis left - it was so good..

Sounds delicious! I only tried something like this recently and it was delicious!
Mix it all with salt pepper and what ever flavourings or herbs to taste. Bind with an egg and form into patties and refridgerate for around 30mins - this sets them (from experience he he). Fry low heat for about 40 mins and they crispify up and go all yummy! You could also put the duck in them
Mashed potatoes - are good for potato farls too
What to do with leftover duckA little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men

hi all
yes sorry for the typo in title - burns night supper not burnt
i am reheating the spiced braised red cabbage just as it was... (delia says it is good reheated) and it was delicious first time round with HM redcurrant jelly..
and i have mixed the mashed neeps and tatties together with a couple of eggs,
the duck meat taken off bone has been covered with gravy, with the combined mash and egg mixture on top...
lets see how the kids react!

I was just coming on to ask almost the same question lol :rotfl:Sadly all the haggis and neeps have gone and I am now left with piles of mash potato. I have sausages or gammon steak, so anything nice I can do with the tatties?:rotfl:0

Bless, so did I and had a very vivid memory of, as a very skint newly wed, forty odd years ago. carefully peeling burnt sausages and smothering them
in a concoction of herbs and gravy, it was absolutely disgusting.
I am falling off my chair laughing as I recall my then ,rather critical and
controlling OH ,telling me he did not like fancy food and much preferred his Moms good plain cooking. I am sure he did.
Thanks for a much needed laugh.Slimming World at target0
