  • Have you looked at spirulina? If you're after a food that is high in protein, low in fat, low in calories and is a natural food then I'd look at spirulina. It's a blue/green algae but don't let that put you off! You can get it in a powder or capsule form, so it's really easy to take every day and I just add the powder to my smoothie or just add it to water.

It's high in protein, like 60%, compared to meat which is about 20%. I read that Oprah Winfrey lost loads of weight from taking it. It's about £13 or £14 so it's a bit more expensive than other food supplements but that will last me a month or more - plus it has loads of other vitamins and minerals in as well, so your body gets what it needs and stops your cravings!! I get the Natural Greens spirulina powder from my health food store or online as their stuff is suitable for vegetarians.

    Good luck! :j

hi- i am just embarking on the same kind of diet due to having polycystic ovarian syndrome - works wonders for me and makes me feel a lot less bloated etc

    i like to eat/ drink

alpro plain soya yogurt to which i add nuts or blueberrys- berries are quite low carb
sainsburys do their own brand unsweetened soya milk for 60p a carton

tinned tuna, sardines, mackrel, prawns can be quite cheap
    unsalted nut variety bags
    mince can be cheap

i also love like the italian meats from the deli counters for a bit of variety from normal meat cuts

    hth
keep calm and carry on :rotfl:
