dermal fillers

Just wondering if anyone has any experience of these.
My niece has a small facial scar(caused by a cat scratch when she was little) that has resulted in a dent in the delicate tissue under her eye.
It's not that noticeable but to her is enormous.
It was suggested that a tiny amount of dermal filler would get rid of it but we are a bit worried about her doing it.
We don't want her to end up with a bump that might look worse or perhaps a nasty reaction.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thankyou.

Because the skin there is so thin and delicate I would be very wary of any kind of procedure that wasn't being offered by a fully accredited doctor/plastic surgeon. Laser treatment may be an option but again, only from a properly registered clinic.
Perhaps her GP could refer her to a NHS consultant to see what they have to say. If he can't or won't (he may not think it's a big enough problem!) then she could go somewhere like the Sk:n clinics. I used them 10+ years ago to have a birthmark removed by laser. As they do other kinds of cosmetic treatments they may be able to suggest better alternatives. I have no connection with them otherwise.0
