Good deal. But for another £20 on Amazon you can get the third generation which is supposed to be up to 50% faster at web browsing and opening app's.

I have this iPod, I don't think the 3rd gen is worth the extra £20 the apps really dont open that much faster, my brother has it :)
  • You can also get 2% cashback through Topcashback. Does anyone know if this is the cheapest around? I am tempted to buy this for my son with his birthday money but don't know much about them.

I am no expert as only just got a 3rd generation when they were on offer at Argos, but if your son is not that old I wouldn't have thought he needed 32gb. Perhaps someone with more knowledge will come on an advise.
  • Thanks Claire21, he's 14 and had his birthday last week, he said he wants one but hasn't given me much information, other than he wanted 32gb. I will see what he says when he comes home from school.

the 3rd gen is a big step up from the 2nd gen in reality. the speed is noticible especially when browsing - also there are some new apps out and more to come which are designed to take advantage of the more powerful graphics chip in the 3rd gen ipods.

if you want the cheaspest then look at ebay - there are a number of highly regraded e-retailers selling the new 3rd gen ipod touches for a lot less than the UK cheapest seller amazon.

for example i picked up a brand new sealed 64gb ipod touch 3rd gen for £249 - same price in amazon £280.

as long as you find a e-retailer with a high feedback then there is no risk. some of these retailers on ebay are selling huge numbers of ipods per day -
  • Just had a look at Ebay and does look like a better bet, thanks for that FEvans.
