Lenders Increasing SVRs

I do actually agree with you.....the T&C's are far too lengthy and complex for the average "man on the street"....as in every contract it is normally in the favour of one party..

If the truth be told, if everybody had the offer fully explained to them they would probably never buy....
I think that, as someone above suggested, Martin should take this issue on. Lenders could publish 100 different statements on their terms and conditions, various mortgage offers, key facts etc and one would never know which was accurate on which to rely. It's unacceptable.

I cannot think of anywhere else where one can get, in writing, a statement outlining the terms of an agreement only to later find that the lender can ignore that in favour of greater profits.

Look, it is this wretched FSA we should be blaming, they're the ones who are allowing the lenders to get away with everything..I can tell you now it is a waste of time challenging lenders.....the FSA & lenders are all in bed together....Have you seen any banks prosecuted/banned/struck off for bad practice...NO AND it will never happen.

We need a complete overhaul of the FSA, the Tories say they will get rid of them??...but what will they bring in......well I don't suppose anything worse than the wimp Brown had brought in...he didn't have a bl**dy scooby what he was doing when he took away the power from the BOE ...

The FSA are nothing but a group of *ankers for bankers...
  • Captain Valient i don't know how much you expect me to check? I have been with my provider for about 18 yrs.Ive had fixed, tracker and svr rates and never complained as i have always accepted that is was my responsibility to work out the best deal for me and my family. I won some and I lost some but at least it was a level playing field. I have always made these arrangements in branch and never once has anyone told me about EXCEPTIONAL CIRCUMSTANCES.

:o:o...Hmmmm. Do you expect them to go through the whole contract, is that not why in all contracts it asks you to read first before signing!!...and if you don't understand don't sign.
