hi everyone, hope this is in the right place, been reading these boards for a bit now and have picked up a load of great ideas but now i need some help.
my other half wants to loose some weight, he was about 2 stone overweight but has already lost half of that :j he is doing all the right things like going to the gym and swimming but now i need some new ideas on cheap meals for him.
he does a demanding job and he likes his food so i need something thats healthy but filling.
i could also do with ideas for cheap healthy snacks, he has a sweet tooth and is finding this bit the hardest so i'd like to make him a few treats if possible.
so if any of you have any recepies, tips or advice to share i'd be very grateful.

Half a stone is great! And he goes to the gym and swims, even better!
I'm guessing that you're giving your OH lots of encouragement, but here's another bit for him! :T
Does he snack? I was thinking today about me and hubby, because hubby is not like his family with regards to how his body is now.
He used to be as skinny as a rake, as I was, but he's now overweight.
Having thought about it, I've realised that I only eat either breakfast or lunch (sandwich or toast) and the meal in the evening.
Hubby on the other hand, snacks. He buys choc biscuits, pork pies...etc etc.
(And choc biscuits seem to make their way in the basket every week! )
So, might be an idea to look at what your OH is eating.0 -
Hi Summer!
The lovely Pink has collated a list of some great cheap recipe threads just HERE so one of those might help.
Plus there is a recipe list of WeightWatchers/Slimming World/low GI recipes (with some great treats on there too!) HERE for you to have a look at.
It sounds like his motivation is great if he is going to the gym, and exercising more, so perhaps just a bit of tweaking in what he eats and when he eats will help. I know that my OH started putting weight on when he started snacking in the evenings when doing paperwork or watching tv.
Anyway, hope he continues his success and that you find some fun things to cook for him.

me and my OH are both doing WW at the moment.. i am going, he is joining in! i thought he didnt eat much during the day at work, turns out he was having a samosa, crisps, coke and a choc bar every day...0

thanks for the ideas,
i'll have a look at the recipies and hopefully find something he likes. he's doing really well at the moment but the last bit of weight is a bit harder to move so i'm hoping something new/different to eat may help and i'll definatly look at the treat bit, he has a very sweet tooth and is finding it hard to cut down on the sweet things.
at the moment he's changed from a full size chocolate bar to the tiny little funsize bars and he's not impressed with them, his face is a picture everytime he has one as there so tiny but he's sticking to it!0
