Self-Assessment Payment Deadline

Options
This is my first year of self-assessment. I know that that the deadline for submitting is Sun 31st at midnight, but what about paying. If I'm going to pay using internet banking it will take 3 days to get there, so I really need to pay on Tuesday at the very latest. If I pay using a credit card is there a similar delay or will payment be credited as soon as it goes through? and if so do I need to have the payment go through on Friday, or can I make a payment on Sunday and still have it be there on time?

Thank you in anticipation

Pay via BillPay. You can do that on the Sunday (assuming the lines aren't too busy!) and it will be credited with an effective date of payment of the 31st. You don't need to register

You can choose your Debit Card or your Credit Card (but will pay a 1.25% fee if the latter). Direct Debit (off the HMRC online site) is the safest option ..... but it takes 5 working days to set up the initial Mandate ..... so you're just out of time.

Go to BillPay via your online Login ..... or direct :-
