Any way of hurrying along my CRB check?

Hi,
I did the form for a CRB check with hope a job my come up at my son's school, this was 3 weeks ago.
Now today a job has come up! I applied she said she was happy to take me on but wanted the CRB certificate (?) I haven't had this?
Does anyone know if I'm able to hurry along my application, I have no criminal record, so I thought it wouldn't take long!!
Any idea's for me?
Thanks

Can take up to 4 months, depends on the cops, go to the station and ask is your best bet.Owed out = lots. :cool:0

Going to your local station won't help. All the forms will be sent to one central office. You won't be able to hurry them up.
There is a website www.crb.gov.uk or you can email them CustomerServices@crb.gsi.gov.uk or write to them Criminal records Bureau, PO Box 165

Mine one only took about 2 weeks to come through. It's an enhanced one so had to go to the council. I would ring and check it has been received first of all.
Is this CRB the one for this school? As I have two for two different schools.Payment a day challenge: £236.69
Jan Shopping Challenge: £202.09/£250
Frugal Living Challenge: £534.64/150000 -

Yeah it's for this school, I told them I was interested in any vacancy's which may come up so I filled out a form either on the 4/5th of Jan and haven't received nothing yet  I think I will try e-mail them.0 -
Give them a quick email just to confirm receipt, though is you're on three weeks it could actually turn up any day now.
Good luck with getting the job, I volunteer in a nursery and school and it is great fun (and hard work).Payment a day challenge: £236.69

CRB is taking a really long time at the moment due to the fact they shut down for 10 days over christmas, then it took them another 3 days to get the system running properly after the shut down period. If you have your application number you can check online to see what stage it is at.
I am currently chasing CRBs that were accepted into the system 9th November !0 -
I've recently been told by an HR source that they can be tracked online, you would need the application number (written on the form you filled in with your details).0

Can also be delayed if you've moved houses a lot as each address needs to be checked. Check its been received and being processed...nothing much else you can do besides that.0
