I have seen a lot of comps that state that if the prize is not available they will give one of equal or greater value. Obviously any win is greatly appreciated and when my Daughter won a 100ml bottle of perfume in a special edition bottle before Christmas she was over the moon. She was promised that it would be sent out before Christmas, however, when the prize eventually arrived (January 20th!!!) it was a 50ml bottle of eau de toilette in the regular bottle. So half the size and a lower quality. She contacted them and they replied:
Unfortunately we are currently out of stock of the Daisy Silver Limited Edition and therefore we sent you out the original to avoid you having to wait any longer for your prize. We are sorry for the inconvenience, and hope that you are still happy with your special prize
So be aware that you don't always get what is promised.

Oh that's really disappointing.
Who was the comp with? Was it a big company? Perhaps she should contact them again and explain that she's really disappointed - the competition was for a limited edition, not one anyone can just pick up from the shops! It wasn't sent out before Christmas as promised, and the one which was sent was smaller than the one advertised.
Maybe she should hint at contacting the ISP, I'm sure that might get their ar*e into gear

You could ask them if this is an intrim prize and the correct one will be sent soon -
I am involved in a site that runs competitions and usually the companies actually running the competition are responsible for the prize. In my experience Ive found them all really helpful when things have gone a bit array. So I would expect them to be for you.

Just to let you know that she emailed Coty and mentioned contacting handbag.com and the ISP and they apologised and said they will also send her a 100ml bottle of Daisy Eau de Parfum, but it will be the normal bottle as the Limited Edition is now out of stock.
