Too late to change???

Hi guys, have an endowment mortgage with 4 years to go. UCB Home Loans have just upped the variable rate to 5.29% as of February (only received the notification 25th January). Am I stuck with this rate? Any ideas??

Thanks for coming back, I think I may be looking at this incorrectly being new to even checking. Is my best bet just to shop around and look at a short term loan for the four years I have left or do I need to remortgage?

Think you would struggle to find a "short term" loan or any other loan for 5.29% or less

Hi, thought that might be the case, 4 years is not a lot and I think I will check out UCB and their take before I do anything else. Thanks for your help

If you're on variable rate, check yr endowment maturity is going to pay off mortgage...otherwise you're now in a position when you can pay as much as you like to cover any shortfalls or even to have some "change" from the endowment...:)
