Play.com spoof emails??

I ordered a t shirt from Play, which has been despatched, i have recieved 2 of the following e-mails, are they scams, i know my card was processed correctly as it went through the secure server thing that i have to use when i shop online, i have since gone into Play.com altered my card details as i'm a bit worried that i cant delete card details

Thank you for your recent order with https://www.play.com

At this time we are unable to process your order further as the card details you have entered appear to be incorrect and cannot be verified.

Please can you check you account and ensure that the following details have been entered correctly:

Credit card number
Valid and Expiry dates
Three digit security code (this can be found on the signature strip of your credit card)

We will then attempt to re-process your original order. You do not need to resubmit your order.

Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused to you in this matter and thank you for your patience and valued custom.

  • I've had this email before where my card has been blocked. However your order seems to be complete so either a) They haven't dispatched your item and you need to update your details/check your card works or b) This is an accidental email and can be ignored.

    If your not desperate wait to see if the tshirt arrives then if it doesn't give them a call. Play's status on orders can be inaccurate at times though.

    i had this too - my card had expired and i hadn't realised - can you log into the site and check that way rather than through the email:j
  • Why don't you forward it to Play and ask if it is genuine?
