Hi,
I'm taking my Mum shopping in Lisburn on Saturday, and I'm looking for somewhere nice to treat her to coffee. Does anyone have any reccommendations? And maybe somewhere nice for lunch, not too expensive, with some vegetarian options? Or anything interesting/fun to do in the Lisburn area? It's her birthday, so looking to make a day of it.
Thanks!

Thornbury's just opposite the entrance to Bow St Mall is about the best for lunch - everything on the hot plate so no waiting to be served. Usually about 3 or 4 hot dishes with selection of veg and chips, jacket pots etc. Also a soup of the day and salad / sandwich bar. We go for there for lunch a lot out of our office as it is about the cheapest and self service means we have time to go shopping afterwards too lol!Life's a box of beads - rainbow coloured and full of surprises!:D0

If you know your way around Lisburn I can recommend the Cafe Vic Ryn inside Furniture Solutions on the Moira Road. They do hot and cold food, a large selections of scones and some lovely desserts and tray bakes.
Furniture Solutions is a registered charity and so its profits are all donated to good causes. The cafe is private but as part of the conditions of their business inside the store they make a charitable donation too. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. i find vic ryn very expensive but the cakes pavolas etc are absolutely amazing!
my fave place is cafe square -right beside NEXT in the square - it is proper home cooked food, and they normally do 2 meals for £12
if it is too busy in there, then i would recommend del torro in antrim street - varied menu, and they do great daily specials for £6 or £7. apparently it is the head chef from the plough who runs it now!0 -
Thanks for the suggestions folks. I'll make a note of them and let my mum decide.0

Hedleys in the main shopping street is amazing. We used to pop down for a chicken and broccoli bake eevry day when I was in Lisburn college! Stew is good too.0

You could also try Bar Burgendy, can't remember the name of the street it's on. Downstairs is very small and intimate and the steaks are to die for!0
