Midday Assistant

Hi everyone,
I'm currently on JSA, and after some thinking have come up with a job i would like to do, until i start a college course next year. Midday Assistant.
In year 10 i went for work experience, i went to a local primary school and i loved every single minute of my time there. I was a classroom assistant, but i did help out at lunchtimes and that. My mum was actually a midday assistant, and some times on my days off from school (i.e. inset days) - i would go in with her and help out.
There is actually a position going at one of the primary schools in our area - granted i'd a couple of pound worse off than JSA, but at least i'd be out there doing something that can go on my CV. Plus my college course is to be a teaching assistant, but with the Midday Assistant position, i would be getting more experience in a school environment.
Does anyone know what kind of questions they would ask for a Midday Assistant at interview?

Just spoke to my mum, and she said she never really had an interview for any of the Midday Assistant positions she went for - not even the first one!
It says the position is immediately available, and that no experience is required.
I had two weeks experience at a local primary school when i was in year 10. Also looking to do a further education course at college next year, which would fit in wonderfully around the Midday Assistant hours. Also went in with my mum quite a bit, to help out, when i was off school and her schools were in - so am really enthusiastic about it.
Gonna phone up first thing tomorrow and see if it's still available. Hoping it is, as it's still on the council website.0 -

I just wanted to say I think your positive attitude is fantastic. I think that positivity will come across and in interview and you'll go far!
Good luck!0 -
Good luck - my daughter is working for less than JSA at the moment, but as she says, it's better than sitting on her bum all day! She is like you, wants to work and wants to have a CV that shows a positive attitude.
I hope you get the job0 -
They might ask some 'what if' questions - what if you see a child upset, what if you see children fighting, what if you hear a lot of shouting etc.
Also there may be equal ops questions or health and safety ones. They are certainly areas to be aware of.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -

Also while working there you will more than likely hear about any teaching assistant vancancies up and coming for when you are applying and they will more than likely have a vancancy booklet for the local authority about all the jobs, and it will be a worthwile reference when applying for any jobs in the future. Best of luck and keep us all updated!:T:T  :beer::beer: to the lil one

This is something I would love to do and then progress onto becoming a teaching assistant. Trouble is the hours are only about 10 and I want around 16 whichI presently do with my current job, but will keep a look out.0
