I have 3 of the Yakumo XL2's from amazon.
They used to £35 but they have gone up to £45.
I personally think these are fantastic DVD Players and have never had an issue. They've played every type of disc I've chucked at 'em.
However, nowadays there is newer players available that play DIVX and Mpeg4. These are video formats that are really coming in as they don't require as much space (megabytes etc..) as DVDs.... and are the common formats used for Films on the Net...0 -
Hi,
I have a Yamada 6600 which plays every format(avi and divx) and is completely region free. cost £54.58 inc delivery from planet micro.
I also have a skyworth which is the same spec as the yamada this was bought for £29.00 from wh smith online with free delivery if collected from a hgh street branch .
Hope this helps.

I got a dvd for my kids in Asda for £29.74.
It wasn't a well known brand (in that I've forgotten it) but it is small footprint, good quality picture and has all the necessary functions.
There were even hacks for it on the 'net to make it multi-region within seconds of me setting it up.
I can highly recommend it.
Oh, it also plays MP3s etc0 -
many thanks, Julienye, shinds and fugitive for your information. I was hoping to find out what peoples views were on a wider range, like the argos cheapie for instance, and as my local smiths is out (Huddersfield), I should maybe toddle on down to Asda and see if they still have any at that price then.
My budget really is very limited on this one!
