Self Assessment Tax Return

Hi All,

I filed my husbands tax return online on the 19th of this month. This is the first time we have used the online method. Can anyone tell me how long it normally takes for them to pay overpaid taxes straight into a bank account when filed in this method rather than the paper method?

Usually within the week if you provided your Bank details (and requested repayment) on the screen?

But they do security check a sample and that could increase the time .... as ther's a lot of filing in the last 14 days.

Yes i did request repayment and provide bank details. Thanks for the reply we have always done the paper return and recieved cheque so was on unsure on how much quicker it would be

Should be magnificently quicker!

But I think SA is linked to BACs (not Faster Payments) ...... so it's a minimum of just under a week. That's assuming you're not checked either by sample or risk analysis (normally the value)? But Login again in a couple of days and see what your Statement shows?
