Creditor Not on Credit File???

I have had a loan with a creditor since the middle of 2008. I checked my file on Credit Expert and it is not shown on there???

Any reason why this is?

I would like to know as they are about to default me, will this not show to other creditors who do a credit search?

    There are 3 main credit reference agencies (Equifax, Experian and Callcredit) and not all creditors report to the same ones. You need to check all 3 of your files and your loan should show up on one of them.

    Some creditors don't report to any until there are problems. As it is optional to report. Most do though and as above there is more than 1 CRA. Some creditors report to 1 or all 3. Made ones are Equifax and Experian though.
    Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.
