    Hi,

My current contract is with O2 and expiring by mid Feb. Can I cancel it now and re-book with Quidco / TCB so that I can get this cash back? Please advice me

Just had a look online with O2, and it mentions nothing that i can see about exsisting customers not being able to get it. Also looked on Quidco and dosnt say anything about for new customers only.

So you may be able to get it. I would call O2 and ask if you can get it, even tho you are an exsisting customer. If they say you can get it, then do it online through Quidco xxxx
  • I moved to O2 from orange about 18 months ago. Best move I ever made. No complaints

Just letting every1 know this offer finishes on the 31st of jan
  • An ab fab deal much better than talktalk "free broadband" but you still have to pay BT landline (£11.54)

It's too late for me and i don't have a bt landline.... although exactly what time does this deal expire on 31st jan 2010?

It's a good deal so long as you sign up to their LLU product, don't sign up to the Access package (ipstream) as it's really bad, very oversubscribed and has capacity issues, their LLU product is excellent only wish I could get it

O2 will be doing their own landline service soon too (March I think), I think it's 9.99 a month. It's cheaper than BT's anyway.

    Edit - £9.50 a month. http://broadband.o2.co.uk/telesales/homephone/broadband.jsp

well 02 says my postcode can have it, but the phone number (which is BT) can't....!!! go figure!

(edit, have rung them up and I'm 1km too far away from the exchange!! Gutted!)
  • Would be grateful for some advice here - I realise it's the last day, and I'm never going to be able to find out everything in a few hours.
We live in what I believe is called a "market 1" area - in other words, whatever the broadband is, it's BT lines.
We have o2 mobile, on contract. We are currently paying Plusnet £40 for unlimited calls and internet (see bill below) and have been with them since 2007. The internet part of which appears to work out at £20.42 per month.
Taking 17.50 * 10 months minus £50 cashback works out at £10.41 per month over the first year accounting for the 2 months free. Looks like it's worth changing - or have I missed something out?
This is what happens when I put the postcode into the checker:
We've estimated that your maximum download speed is 3 meg. This is based on information BT gave us about your BT line. You're outside the network area that O2 Broadband covers, but all is not lost. We can offer you our O2 Home Broadband Access package.
Free for the first two months
Recommended for users who want a simple, fast and reliable broadband service and value for money.
    £17.50 for O2 mobile customers
    £22.50 all other customers
    12 month contract applies
They claim to have UK call centres, but when I migrated our mobiles to o2 last year (on the £100 quidco offer), the problems were so bad and the call centre made so many failures, that they voluntarily gave us £50 each for our trouble. It was that bad...
I'm happy-ish with Plusnet - and it looks like it's only £50 cashback for "Access" broadband, which is £17.95 after first two months.
Our current package with Plusnet looks like this - I have a feeling we could be doing better now..
    1 Call charge for the period to 05/01/2010 £2.22 £0.39 £2.61
    1 Unlimited charge for the period 05/01/2010 to 04/02/2010 £17.38 £3.04 £20.42
    1 Talk Anytime Line Rent for the period 05-01-2010 to 04-02-2010 £9.57 £1.68 £11.25
    1 Call Plan charge for the period 05-01-2010 to 04-02-2010 £4.26 £0.74 £5.00
    1 Caller Display charge for the period 05-01-2010 to 04-02-2010 £0.84 £0.15 £0.99
    1 Voicemail Extra charge for the period 05-01-2010 to 04-02-2010 £2.55 £0.45 £3.00
    Net Amount £36.83
    VAT Amount @ 17.5% £6.44
    Invoice Total £43.27
