  • Thanks Bitter but it has come from necessity - I have been so tired since going back to work after christmas the food bill has soared.
We come in from work and I have 2 seperate meals to make (me veggie, OH meat eater) while OH sees to the animals and washes any dishes left from the night before :(
We eat so differently that by the time I have made something for him I cannot be bothered making anything nice for me. Last week we had 3 take aways!!!!! and the budget just doesnt have it in it do waste so much.
If I can have a cook a thon at the weekend then I can just treat everything I make as ready meals and just reheat as needed.
Today I roasted 2 chickens which I will strip and make the curries with, the bones I will make into stock for next weeks soup which will be chicken and rice.

can you make OH accompaniments that are mains for you? I am sure you thought of that, but a plate of roasted veg (whatever I have) or a risotto (using leftovers) covers my meat eaters main meals and my veggie live in waitress too.
As for the beef, black may not look appetising raw, but by god it tastes soooo good!
I was obsessed with use by dates, and my OH never worried, he used whatever. The roles are now reversed and he drives me crazy - must be a midlife crisis!
