FTB improve credit score...

Afternoon All,

I've posted on here before about my lodger's credit score and his intention to get it as good as possible before he applies for a mortgage to buy my flat.

He applied for a CC with his Lloyds TSB tank at the beginning of January and got one with a 1.9k limit!, that's very big I think for his first CC but that's what he's being offered and is using it lots each month and full re-payment at the end of this month to up his credit score.

My lodger checked on a website, I think it was checkfile where you place certain details like; age, credit card, employment length and he said he was higher IF he had a contract phone, I've also heard that applying for a small overdraft will boost his credit score..

SO basically the question is in addition to the lodgers credit card which will be fully re-paid at the end of the month which solution will boost his score the most:

  1. Apply for phone contract
  2. Apply for small overdraft with his bank
  3. Application for store card (curry's/comet) for item of value around £150 and then continue minimum re-payments every month therefore improving his CC successively
  4. Any suggestions or combinations anybody has at all:)
Any more comments or questions you need to know then please ask.

Before you ask about his deposit for my place, it's already saved up in his bank account, he's currently got 9k so nearly the full amount needed including all calculated fee's for solicitors, booking fee's, valuation and other fee's. I know this as I've got a mortgage so all I need is some expert financial advice from you good people:T

Regards

BW
