Rio Laser Hair Removal

Have just seen this on a few different sites and am very curious as to how good it is. I didnt know this sort of technology was available to use at home. The last i knew was electrolysis.
I have very dark course hair and it is a problem in the normal areas.

Has anyone used it and if so how have you found it as regards ease of use, lasting effects and how long it takes? Thanks

BTW its around £100 and being what it is i would imagine non returnable which is why i want to get as much info as poss.

According to several scientific studies, a laser beam emitting at 808 nm, which is what this one is, should work. However, reactions online have been mixed, to say the least. Hope these help:

Rio have got more info about the product on their site:

The main problem, aside from whether it actually works or not (and the jury seems to be out) is that it treats one hair at a time, so not exactly a rapid route to hairlessness.
  • It's rubbish. I got one from Argos but I was able to return it as I said it didn't work, not meaning faulty just that it didn't do what it was meant to, but I don't think it will be easy for veryone to buy it, try it and return it.

The laser isn't as strong as the salon ones, which is to be expected from a home use item. Its also very difficult to get to target the hair, due to the safety feature which stops you moving it about and also the laser being so small compared to salon lasers. All I managed to get it to do was burn a bit of my skin and the end of the hair which later grew back.

I've been having laser treatments in salons for years now so I know a bit about it and definitely wouldn't recommend the Rio laser. Salon/clinic laser treatments are getting much cheaper so it's worth shopping around to find a good one.
