No payment this month! HELP!

Hey guys....

So. ive been working for a company who contracts with DHL @ Home. I use my own car to do small parcel deliveries locally and get paid per drop. I started in October 09.

Since starting the pay hasnt been reliable.. somtimes late, often short etc. However the run up to Christmas things were hectic as expected. I was expecting around £800 for a 2 week period, but only got £500, Was told DHL hadnt paid him, so he couldnt pay me, but i would recieve it at some point. Anyway, 2 weeks ago, i got my basic pay which was fine, but still not any of the money that was owed... Yesterday i was due another pay... this time i got nothing. None of the money owed from december, and none for the past 2 weeks. This now leaves me almost £900 out of pocket. As a result im unable to pay any of my high priority debts, many of which were on final warnings as it was.

He's claiming hes only the middle man, and he cant pay me until DHL pay him... is there anything i can do?

I'd approach DHL direct. How do you know he is not pocketing the money..?

DHL have no responsibility to/for you as you don't work for them. So it's unlikely that they will give you any information on what they have paid to whom.

Your boss is the one who needs to pay you but as he's happy to fob you off, you may be best looking for alternative work and pursuing a small claim.

I certainly wouldn't (and haven't) let myself go underpaid for any length of time without kicking up a mighty stink.
Opinion, advice and information are different things. Don't be surprised if you receive all 3 in response. :D

Take your money and go to the pub, enjoy a nice meal and some beer.

Keep drinking beer and although this will not solve your debt problem, it will reduce the seeming significance of this in your life.

Meanwhile tell him if you're not paid in full you will contact DHL yourself and inform them of this dodgy business which may lead to them losing their contract. :)
