Broadband USB Modem + 3 filters for £4.99 (£10.99 delivered) (merged)

Saw it posted at a computer forum.

DabsValue ADSL Broadband USB Starter Kit: Modem + 3 Filters - From Dabs

I think a single filter costs around £2+. G

(Edited to correct the delivery costs that increased since initial posting - it was £8.23 delivered)

But i thought everyone got these free whoever they signed up with - like I just got a free one with orange (who I intend to cancel with in 3 weeks time) - and I'm using my own modem so technically spare!

Am I missing something -why would someone want a usb modem? Not saying its not cheap - and not trying to knock OP I just don't see the point of one

Umm they do sometimes break down.....I had a speedtouch 330 stop working a few years back after a storm, needed to have a lend of one, as it was I was looking to go over to a wireless modem router around the same time so didn't actually need to buy a modem.

Can you please say how you know this? I have a speedtouch 330 (from Wanadoo a few years ago). Just wondering whether I could get even faster speeds with a new modem/router

Well, I like to use my own stuff whenever possible & not have to be 'obligated' to these companies :) (no offence taken, by the way).

Sorry about that. It was definitely £8.23 delivered when I tried it the other day - they must have increased the delivery charge since :(.

If you choose a different delivery method at checkout, it may be cheaper?? Worth a try I suppose. G

P.S. Please let me know either way. Depending on your reply I'll correct/close this thread.

Tried that but the minimum charge stands - you can't select any cheaper.
It's still a good deal. Might get one as a spare. Surprisingly, You can't get USB modems on the high st anywhere easily. All the stores eg Dixons, PC world etc are full of wireless and/or routers.

Patr100, you may get a cheaper one off eBay (<---sorted by Price: lowest first).

One buy-it-now for just £6 including microfilters (beware, if you bid the buy-it-now may disappear & you may end up paying more on 15/07 when the auction ends!). G
