Need to defrost salmon quickly

I was just thinking about dinner tonight and the fact that we are supposed to be having salmon, new potatoes and vegetables in cheese sauce.

However, I've realised I forgot to get the salmon out of the freezer this morning

The salmon fillets are quite small, maybe 8cm long by 5cm wide and they're probably about 2.5cm thick.

Is there anyway I can defrost these safely in time for dinner? Even though, they're quite small, they won't defrost by themselves before dinner.

I've got a microwave, but don't know the best way of defrosting the salmon in it.

Thank you :)

I cook salmon fillets under the grill straight from the freezer - no probs. It just takes a little longer than raw fish but less time than defrosting. Make sure you turn them several times then just pull the flakes apart at the thickest bit to check it's cooked through.

I always keep frozen salmon fillets because they make a very quick meal when you've nothing planned. Always just do on defrost for about 10 minutes, then give a blast at medium. If I'm serving with new potatoes and steamed veg they're always ready by the time the potatoes are boiled!
