was sent an email to join up here, supposedly works similarly as shop n scan with the scanner and stuff

are they a reputable company or just pulling off a scam

Does anyone have a tried and tested opinion about these? have heard they put stuff on your computer that spies on you or slows things down considerably and then is hard to remove when you have left.

I have Nielsen software on my computer, I get paid £3 per quarter via Valued Opinions and my lappy works normally. The software tracks what websites you click on and then sends you extra surveys, so yes it's a form of spyware but it's not like you don't know you have installed it! I believe they are a reputable company, actually you do see their name on the bottom of advertising posters.

The Techie board would help you remove the software, they get you to run a log of all the programs that are running and then 'fix' things until the programme is gone.

Nielsen are a reputable company. I first heard of them as they do the viewer ratings totals for US tv shows etc

I do the Nielsen shop and scan - which is totally different from the Valued Opinions one that Fire Fox mentioned. The scaninng one odesn't involve downloading any software onto your pc.

It is a bit of a faff and I think it works out at about £1 per week when you cash your rewards in but I have nothing better to do so I don't really mind.

If you do a search for it on MSE you will find loads and loads of posts to help you decide.

That web address is registed to this company, http://www.surveysampling.com/ who at least are an actualy survey company. So may well be legitimate though the address you've given doesn't seem to lead anywhere for me?
