Why don't you buy a scanner? They are pretty cheap - only a little more than what you are willing to pay! for example:

Nb 220 pages would take some time to scan!
Or try a local printers who usually have a auto system for feeding pages.I'm mad!!!! :rotfl::jand celebrating everyday every year!!!0 -

I thought about offering to help you out then I rememberd that a 20 page pdf file scanned is usually about 5MB so your proberbly looking at 50+MB for the file, processing so many pages will take a while.
The scanning them in on a standard flatbed opening and closing the lid making sure its straight for every page, previewing each page selecting the area as auto selection is never acurate on printed text as there are never any solid edges for it to detect and then scanning a full page. it can take about 1 minute per page maybe more. Once it has finished scanning it has to process each page and create the pdf file that can take a while and sometimes fails so you have to rescan them.
If this is somthing you could b doing alot of then buy a scanner but not just a normall one get one with a sheet feeder. eve if it just saves you loading the sheet on to the scanner and getting it streight every time.
I have installed a few coppiers for customers that will scan and create a file for you that is stored on the coppier and I just browse the network and find the file and its done automatically as the coppier has an auto sheet feeder.
Good luck I hate scanning 20 pages at a time it takes so much time. How do you want them finished? PDF? editable in Microsoft word scanned then OCR'ed to check everything is correct.

£25 ?
:rotfl:
as a guide, you will get about 2-3 pages scanned per £1 if you find someone who is feeling VERY generous  obviously, with economies of scale, you would be better finding someone who would accept pay per hour, to help bring the cost down

Thanks for taking the time to explain this. The problem I have is that I have thousands of sheets that need filing in PDF or Microfilm. They just take up too much space. I hate scanning too - I'd rather do what I enjoy and that is 'trying to make moey'.Tht is why I posted on here. I also contacted a few companies.Ask me no questions, and I'll tell you no lies0 -

Cheers but just had two mails back from large companies in London.
To scan and return on a titled CD in PDF format = £ 65.00
per 1000 pages scanned.
You would also need to get the papers couriered to our offices. We would then charge £ 25.00 to courier them back to you, with the CD's.
Second Company
They would need to be scanned using a flatbed scanner so we would charge 15p per page
