Ames - I am the Adaptation Co-Ordinator for the local council (used to be Aids and Adaptations, but the Government asked that the Aids part gets dropped because people were confusing it with the illness of that name)

Also as you know my daughter has disabilities and we have a toilet frame that has a toilet riser as part of it. I would recommend this rather than having the riser and the frame seperately because the riser has to be taken off to clean the toilet and can sometimes be difficult to get back on, whereas with the frame you can just move it out of the way whilst cleaning.

Gemmzie - Graze is not veg, it is nuts and dried fruit and stuff like that. Very nice but expensive unless you can get a half price code or a free one

Too late :( the stuff's already been ordered and is coming on wednesday.

I love Graze stuff, my code is 129YTJK

Claire~It varies from each area whether the OT has a budget for smaller things. In lots of areas you have to pay for smaller items.

In this area they don't do little things because of the budget. All they do in the kitchen is perching stools and knives and forks for people with arthritis. I asked for baskets to help get things out of the pans (like in chip pans), electric tin opener, and easier to use chopping knives, but I need to find them myself.

I've been to Leeds today for a conference on the future of housing. WHSmiths wanted to charge me £1.29 for a black pen. Do they think I'm rich? Bought a BIC from across the way for 40p!

Oooh, where did you have it? Till last summer I was quite involved in that kind of thing, through the tenants fed, a project at the uni and a few other groups.
