Yep, they've gone bust. Here's the text of the email to users telling them the news. I've put the details about what should happen to your account data in bold:
It is with great regret that we announce the closure of our service as we have been forced to take the business into administration. Over the course of the last 6 months we have been trying hard to raise funding which would have allowed us to launch our enhanced new product and develop our offering further. Unfortunately we now have to admit defeat.
We are sorry that we have not been able to repay your trust in Kublax and particularly disappointed not to be able to launch the new enhanced version of the service which was being shaped to a very large extent by your Feedback on the current service.
Kublax's partner, Yodlee, will be deleting all user data, including online banking details from its servers. Once deleted no further information will be gathered and stored for Kublax customers. Your transactional data will also be completely erased from our servers by close of business on Friday 19th February. We will not pass your data on to any third parties.
Sadly, they've not updated their website with any of this info, or removed any of the sign up pages, so some people could still register from the looks of things.0 -
Re Moneystrands:
I tried it late last year and was impressed. However at the end of January Nationwide changed their online login procedure and neither Moneystrands nor First Direct can get at my Nationwide current or savings accounts. Having a problem with Moneystrands highlighted the weakness of their support - they have a forum but there are many unanswered questions from months and even years ago. The most recent posts are often four weeks ago. And, strangest of all, I can't find where you can add a new post to their forum!
I've written to their support email address to ask about this and about whether they support the other banks I'm considering switching to - Co-operative, Smile, First Direct, Lloyds and Halifax. There's no table or info on their site about which accounts work, which is suspicious.0 -
I used to find MoneyStrands really useful. However last month they changed the site and started charging. The site is now much worse; previously it was all laid out in a straightforward way, now it is all colours and fancy looking but so hard to find anything compared to before that I wouldn't even use it for free anymore let alone pay for it. Such a shame they ruined it.0

Microsoft Money is now free (used to be very expensive).
It's the most powerful tool for this purpose around.0 -
i use a free software called spending viewer ( google "spending viewer" ) its free upto 2 accounts. easy to upload transactions, it assigns categories
automatically based on your settings, lots of reports to track (Report by category, by month, by year, by payees, by budget).
Setup budget by weekly/monthly. It is really fast, shows years worth of data in less than a second, and all in a single screen with single click.0
