Hull Court For BR?And A Question

I am going to book an appointment to go BR next week. I could keep paying payments towards my two loans, credit card and overdraft but im getting nowhere. I would rather bite the bullet and try and start again.

I was wondering if anyone has used Hull Crown Court to go bankrupt and if so what was your experiance like please?

Once you are made bankrupt is it a good idea to ring all your creditors, in my case Lloyds and Halifax to tell them ive just been made BR? I was wondering if I did this would it stop the letters etc?

Thanks a lot:wave:

  • hi i use the o/r in hull which will be yours and they are quite nice nothing to worry about---anyway good luck:beer:
  • thanks for the reply
can u give me an idea what to expect when i go there please?
  • Me too. Did not go BR at Hull, but local OR. Has been OK.
Let them ring you (creditors),why waste more money ringing them? Have found it quite easy since BR, just tell them number, and which court and they are quite happy. Probably won't stop letters for a while. You can either file them or bin them. Sometimes takes OR up to 8 weeks to let them know.

Hi Paulo, im sure it's just a typo, but you should be going to Hull COUNTY Court, not Hull CROWN Court, some places have them in the same place, but check just in case
Hi, im Debtinfo, i am an ex insolvency examiner and over the years have personally dealt with thousands of bankruptcy cases.

  • thanks you two. I will check yes. I just wondered what they were like to deal with etc. At least now your name isnt put in the Hull Daily Mail like it used to be. I havent seen the BR section in it for a while.
So after BR do you just continue as normal? What i mean is after you OR phonecall does he or she deal with your creditors on your behalf. I must admit I owe around £20000 in unsecured debt and I have been a bit reckless with the money, i.e i have nothing to show for it. I live with my mum and dad at the min who I pay £300 a month to for rent, will the OR want to speak to them at all? Im hoping they wont

The calls & letters will eventually stop once the receiver has informed everyone about your bankruptcy (they have around 8wks or so) IF a creditor still continues to hassle then just give them your bankruptcy number ***/2010 and the court you filed at with the receivers contact details....

Hi, didn't go BR at Hull court but my OR is at Hull and I have found them, and the examiner to be extremely polite and courteous.

All our creditors except one have stopped hassling us now, but you always get one!!

Try not to worry, we found the thought of the court was worse than the actual experience.
