You've posted this on the 'child SUPPORT' board, so do you mean child BENEFIT or child SUPPORT?

If Child Benefit - what country are you living in? Many countries have reciprocal agreements that their citizens can claim in other countries and vice versa. I know Canadians can get child benefit here right away, and a UK citizen can claim the child benefit of child tax credits in Canada right away with no waiting period - but not all countries do this.

If child support - again, depends on if the non resident parent lives in the UK and if there is a reciprocal agreement (through REMO - reciprocal enforcement maintenance orders) between the two countries.

So....what country are you in? and do you mean child support from a non custodial parent, or child benefit from the government?

Possible ---- but.....they may be able to claim in the country they are in with no waiting period - wouldn't want to get caught claiming in both though!
