Good post but some of the specs seem odd on the dixons website. 10ms is absolutely BLAZINGLY fast - 13ms is the fastest I have EVER seen or heard of. Also the dot pitch is down as 0.069..mm this is about 3-4 times smaller than a very good CRT monitor - this one is clearly incorrect.
If it's true, this is really state-of-the-art, but be wary.
dixons being part of companies that also won pcworld....hmmm wouldnt surprise me if they were wrong....youd think they would be experts by now! ::)Stevie Coppell's record breaking blue and white royal army - championship winners 2005-60 -
Just checked the Iiyama website on the specs for this and the dot pitch is .0264 x 0.264, which is pretty good. The reponse time IS 10ms - which makes this monitor easily Fast enough for games. Very tempting.....if i had known then what i know now0

sorry just noticed its the 434s not the 435.0 -
I got an E435S a few days ago from the Currys website - they're out of stock most of the time but if you check every morning (around 10am onwards) you should find one before long. Excellent piece of kit - considerably better colours, brightness and sharpness than the LG1710S I have at work. You can save a tenner and get free delivery if you use a couple of the Currys codes from the vouchers forum. They don't come with a DVI cable included though, so budget an extra £10 or so.0

crap contrast ratio 1:350 should look for about 1:500

Fourmi, I agree about the contrast ratio being bad, but you wouldn't think so when using the monitor - I am really quite impressed by it! Nice bright colours and a lot better than my old "Proview" one. I'm only using the standard 15 pin connector at the moment, though I have a DVi cable on order from ebuyer for £7 odd + VAT. (I was ordering a dvd burner anyway so combined postage!!) 8)Be an amateur! Professionals built the Titanic, amateurs built the Ark!!

the contrast ratio is not such a big thing to worry about
rather than say its crap , i will explain
It basically means the high the number , the more brighter the white is and darker the black is.
Many monitors with high ratios can be painful on the eyes ( i use one all day long)
As for the 10ms, depends how its measured.
Mines a 25ms and i play halflife 2 without ghosting.( more of a COD online gamer tho)
My monitor has both dsub and dvi , as does my video card , and i run 2 pcs, to this monitor, and DVI is a little cleaner, its not a massive difference
Dont go shopping for a low ms , high ratio monitor, unless you can afford it.
For 99% of people on this forum most tft will do the job nicely
one thing to look out for is the warranty, swap out, and dead pixels before an exchange unit is sent out.
Thats the important stuff.
check this out for proper advise.

Can anyone with this monitor tell me if it is silver, or white? i can't tell properly on the Curry's site.
I am tempted to order this should I see it in stock on the website, although I don't need inbuilt speakers and on my iiyama CRT they can interfere with the screen if they're up loud. ::)0 -
The one i purchased from currys was silver..
check the letter after the number..
E435S = silver
E435w = white
E435B = Black.0 -
Ah that makes perfect sense, thanks0
