Nobody seems to have picked up that Martin won the Best Web Celebrity category in the Web User Magazine Noughties Web Awards. Apparently he picked up 30% of the votes cast. The awards covered the best of the last 10 years. Well Done!

well done, I couldn't find it on their website, even using the search function. It's in the current print edition published on Jan 14th.

They didn't even have Noah Antwiler (SpoonyOne), Brad Jones (The Cinema Snob), Doug Walker (That Guy With The Glasses/Nostalgia Critic), Lindsay Ellis (Nostalgia Chick) or James Rolfe (The Angry Video Game Nerd/Cinemassacre.com) in the shortlist??!! I'm shocked!

But, well done Martin! To be honest, I think more people have now heard of you than Tim Berners-Lee (even though he has a knighthood now) because of what you do more than how you do it - does that even make sense? And I hope it doesn't sound rude!

I suspect the ordinary average person in the street will know Martin, whereas Tim Berners-Lee is only likely to be known by the more technically educated.
