    thanks for the info!

I've spoke with them, and surprisingly found them to be nothing but helpful and polite!!

Have negotiated paying 50% of the debt within 5 weeks.

I said I wouldn't pay anything until I see it in writing and the lady on the phone said I would receive it in the next few days, confirming that this will be the end of the debt, if I pay the £400....

    Phew, what a relief!

Make sure you get that in writing... that it is in FULL and FINAL settlement of the debt.

If they come chasing you later for the other 50%, your protests about "a woman on the phone told me it was the end of the debt......" could be laughed at.

    Lies Lies Lies....

Wescot have failed to provide in writing after several phone calls with the letter stating full and final for 50%. Each phone call to them, they were ruder and ruder demanding I make payment.

I've told them i'm not paying until I see it in writing...

It has now gone past the date it should have been settled by.

Waiting game now for next bunch of letters.

Do not believe this bunch of muppets, get it in writing.

    Next letter arrived this morning...

'you have failed to make payment'
'you have 7 days before we start legal proceedings'

Well send me the settlement figure in writing! You know what you have to do!!!
  • I've had a letter from Wescott as well with regard to an outstanding O2 bill which I'm sure I've paid. I wrote to them and asked them to send me a "true and fair" copy of the bill before I take any further action. They're saying it's for £50.71.
I'll wait with interest to see if this arrives. I've also advised them not to contact me by telephone or else I would bring harrasement charges against them. Let's see what happens.......

Letter arrives today (13th) dated 5th March on the letter, however the post mark frank states it was posted on the 11th of March!

It says I have until the 12th for full and final settlement of £400...How can I possibley make it if it arrives after the date I have to make f and f by? IDIOTS!

It states after the 12th March they will only accept the full balance...

Any suggestions on the letter to send back now to these muppets....? Is this something to report to trading standards....?

Why are they muppets? Your incompetence in not keeping your account details in order was the reason they had to get involved in the first place.

You borrowed £800, spent it, and are now trying to welch on paying it back. Remember, a large part of LTSB is owned by taxpayers. Its everybody else who loses in this.

    Muppets? Try a mirror.

Or do you get off on preaching?
Your mother should have taught you if you have nothing nice to say dont open your mouth

To the op, dont worry wescott will just keep churning out the threatograms and you will get it sorted in the end. Ignore their threats as the amount owed is too small to bother taking it to court.
You could try writing to them offering your full and final, keep copies and send it recorded delivery just in case they say they never recieved it .
just dont pay them anything till you get it in writting

    When will you people learn?
Ltsb needed bailing out due to thier own greed and incompetance.

Non payers have no effect on the public, it becomes a tax write off. Why do you think that when you default they add as much extra interest and silly charges as possible? It's to artificially inflate the debt so they get an even bigger tax write off.

Also, if you research fractional reserve banking, you'll realise they didn't lend you any money anyway. Just an accounting entry that creates a debt....:p

Back to wescot. If they don't own the debt (absolute right of assignment) they cannot take it to court and the op has no obligation to pay them anything as the obligation remains with the oc.
If the debt IS finally sold to wescot, the op should by law, recieve a notice of assignment from the oc.
Happiness, is a Kebab called Doner.....:heart2::heart2:
