Offset Mortgage for Contractors?

my offset mortgage problem.....
I currently have an offset mortgage with IF but they no longer offer new mortgages so I called First Direct last week and was halfway through the process of getting an agreement in pricipal when the phone died. I have just rang back to complete the process and I had to restart the process but this time they said they wouldnt be able to offer me a mortgage! even though it was based on the same info I provided last time!!
I have been trading for 2 years and 3 months, I am sole director of my own limited company (engineering consultancy) the company turnover has been £120k with £75k profits for the 2 years and im looking for a 150k mortgage on a house worth 400k as we have managed to save a 250k deposit
any suggestions welcome!
