I thought you only needed 30 years' stamps now. I've already done mine.ukcarper- you really need to sign on or do something to keep your state pension open to you. If you miss any Nat Ins payments by not signing on or paying IS payments voluntarily you'lll lose out on all the years you paid in to the system. Please seek advice0 -

How do you work that one out?:D
I agree you cant have wealth and prosperity for all, all the time but can you expand on your point?
Work is not intrinsically valuable and in fact the amount of hours people work has fallen dramatically since the start of the industrial age. I am not sure why the number of years people work should fall(especially as the decline in actual working hours seems to have decreased).
Perhaps we will have a society where people spend longer in education, take sabaticals, look after elderly relatives or kids more.0 -

Female, single, no kids. Never not worked until recent years when I've mostly been "self employed" which is "making a few bob here and there and doing a yearly tax return". They've confirmed I have my 30 years banked. Are you a man or a woman? If you ar a woman did you take time out to stay at home and bring up kids.
