bargain hardwood floors

Hi
I have bought oak flooring from this company before and can highly recommend it.
At the moment they have an end of line clearance on loads of their stock, it is all bundled in room sizes and you can't buy it per m2 but it is really really cheap eg. walnut for £25 m2 inc vat!

http://www.carpentersofyork.com/cgi-bin/carpo.cgi?Command=ShowFloorProduct&db_fpid=2493

I can vouch for the quality as I have bought 2 different types of oak off them and had a few more samples, I only wish they had had these end of line offers when I bought the last stuff, I would have loved walnut. If you have a look in their regular catalogue you can see what it should be full price.

Hope this helps someone

Lynsey

    £25/Sq m

You are having a laugh if you think that is cheap.

    Is this your company ?

It is real wood, not laminate.

    £25 /Sqm IS a good price.

Come on TalkShop - if you are going to critise a post please at least provide a better deal available. I know when I was looking at real wood floorings I would have used Carpenters of York - good prices and they sent samples out for free.

Yes, it is good - usually expect to pay £45-£65 for flooring with a decent thickness of real wood, especially if they're planks rather than strips.

Makro have some offers at the mo, which are strip-wood planks with a real wood layer, but a fairly thin one (13-15mm) so probably only suitable for light traffic areas. Anyhow:

    Oak 13 mm £9.99/sqm
Bamboo 15mm £14.99/sqm (available in light or dark finish)
    Merbau 13mm £14.99/pack (0.85 sq m)
Brown teak (no thickness given) £14.99/pack (0.85 sq m)

I highlighted the walnut as a particularly good offer, if you look else where solid walnut flooring is about £70 m2.
I was just trying to help out anyone who is interested I know this isn't cheap but it is good value for solid wood flooring.
I have bought solid oak flooring off them for £20 m2 inc VAT, this was the cheapest I could find after hours of searching for this QUALITY of flooring, now they are selling much more expensive types of wood for a similar price.

Of course I don't work for the company anyone can see by looking at their website they are a well established company who would not need someone to post false "good buys" in chat forums, as I said before I was just trying to help. If you don't think this is a good buy, don't buy it, somone else might though, thats why I posted here.
