i was medically retired from BT back in 1997 and received a lump sum and pension -til death do i part--it seems connected to inflation but i am wondering what its 'real' value will be when i am 65 in 18 years time?-do i hope for high inflation or more of the same that we have had over the past 11 years? -just a point i live abroad now but have a home and outgoings in the uk.
Excuse the naivity but i am new to the site and this might have been raked over many times before!

It will increase with RPI each year so it's "real value" will be about the same as now, depending on how accuratly RPI matches your lifestyle.0

i am new to this forum world but money savvy---i dont know which forum or how i would start it ???-i find the comparisons and attitudes fascinating -i never regret my foray abroad and i am building a life in a totally contrasting financially bound society-money matters both here and in the uk are my parcantpi am a bit remote from the uk and i get my indept finance info from this site and brief news reports but it all seems very scary and manic--reminds me of the millenium turn and the property crash of 1990 all rolled into one!--we lived to fight another day and it seems no one learnt the lessons!!-i wish i could get the locals to raise a site like this!mfw'11 No68- 55k mortgage İO--little to nothing saved! i must do better.0
