Jenny_13 MFW Diary

Hi

I have decided I want to be MF ASAP although realistically this will take 8.5 years. I am going to keep a diary of little things I do to help become MF. Even if no one else reads it I hope it will keep me motivated.

Just a bit of background for anyone who is interested. I was a FTB and bought my house with my OH last month and we are due to get married in May.

My first steps:

*Overpaid by £235
*Earnt a £15 voucher by doing online surveys
*Organised a packed lunch for tomorrow and the aim is not to spend any money

Next steps:

*Dig out stuff to sell on ebay
*Look for a cheaper gas and electric supplier
*Get a savings pig (idea I've seen on another thread)
*Go round the house and find all the loose change (not going to pay my interest but at least it's better than nothing).

Future steps:

*Change to pay as you go when my contract runs out in April
*Sell any items left over from the wedding
*Take as much overtime as possible at work

That's it for now! Thanks for reading.

This evening (whilst watching some mind numbing TV) I decided to have a look around some old savings accounts. As sad as this sounds but I found £10 which means tomorrows interest is paid :)

This weekend me and the OH have got double glazing salesmen coming (not exactly moneysaving but we need quotes to decide) but it means that we won't be out shopping and the only spending will be on food. It also means we can dig out some stuff and put it on ebay.

Next week I'm due a refund from N Power of £72 which will also go towards the mortgage.

I don't think it's anything massive but I'm glad to still be making the small steps :)

Today I haven't sone much to become MF but I did get given a bottle of wine at work so I saved £5 on my usual Friday night drink so I'm going to put that towards the mortgage. Also if I win Euro Millions tonight I'll def be mortgage free (wishful thinking!)

Its really worth going the whole hog and giving yourself a money make over as shown on this site, its a great guide and makes you think of everything - it does take some time but if you havent done it, its really worth it!
