I would like to volunteer, but i am finding it hard to find anything to do.
I work full-time during the week, but I could give some of my time on weekends to help people...
Does anybody know where I can get any info or have anyone done something similar?

Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email abuse@moneysavingexpert.com.10 Dec 2007 - Led Zeppelin - I was there. :j :cool2: I wear my 50 (gold/red/white) blood donations pin badge with pride. You could try your local Council for Voluntary Service (CVS) - they hold lists of organisations that need volunteers. Otherwise try local charities, depending on your interests. Your local library or council offices might also be able to help.
You might be able to become a befriender through your local Carer's Centre, sitting with someone elderly or disabled whilst their carer goes out to get their shopping or has a bit of respite.
Charity shops usually welcome volunteers.
Animal charities often need people to clean out cages, walk dogs, etc.
Councils are crying out for weekend foster carers for disabled children - the government introduced a Short Breaks agenda and this is one way in which families can be helped. You might only give up one weekend a month, but it could make a big difference to someone.
Conservation charities often need help to clear wasteland, plant trees, etc.
Ask at your local community centre if there is a children's youth club that you can volunteer at.
I am a guider and run Brownies and Rainbows, but these are during the week, not at weekends.
If you volunteer to help with people, you will probably have to have a CRB check, or an enhanced CRB check.
Good luck and enjoy your volunteering.0 -

Fengirl beat me to it with the do-it.org.uk website.
I think as Kingfisher says, you need to think about what it is you want to do. There are a wide range of volunteering opportunities.0 -
You can come over and do the cleaning at my house this weekend."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0
