Professional Mortgages

Does anybody know anything about these? If so, can you recommend brokers?

Could you be more specific? What information are you actually after and what is your own situation?
  • I'd guess doctor, dentist, accountant, lawyer etc. where a significant post university period of time is spent on a (historically) lower salary, during "training", after which the salary would rise quickly. Higher multiples were used (historically) or a discounted period at the start of the mortgage. Largely a bygone idea as mortgages are no longer the 25 year 3 times salary repayment offerings they were decades ago.

Are you looking for lenders to offer you a higher income multiple based on the fact of being in a "professional" occupation?

  • Thanks. Yes I am. Also, I'd like to know if the rates offered are any better. Can you help with this one?

In that case, there really is no difference between a "normal" mortgage then.

What kind of multiples and LTV are you looking at?

DO you have a good credit history?

there are "professional" deals out there but in my experience they have rarely been the best option......maybe I'm being a cynic but they often appear "gimmicky". What do others think?
    Happily an ex mortgage broker!

Not sure if I would want an amateur mortgage.

The OP gives very limited info, so any sensible meaningful reply is impossible.
