I got my dress... and it sure as heck ain't white!

Because of the little blip we had, and the fact I realize I can't even wear a white T-shirt without ending up with some kind of dodgy stain on my bewb within 1 minutes - I couldn't order a wedding dress in the end (I'd planned to go the Landy route - as a plus size I didn't have the guts to go into a wedding dress shop - it was too intimidating).

Since we've only got 2 months till the wedding - we went another route and started looking at evening frocks - and together (hell is only having a bloke on hand for fashion advice btw) we decided to do a little reccy to Debenhams at the weekend. End result is we've got a dress - and it's purple! (wearable again and it's just such a dramatic colour it's gorgeous).

Best bit was - I dithered and dithered about the idea I could fit into something from a mainstream clothes shop (I was a size 28 at the start of last year) - and having lost over 2 stone I bought the 22... and it's SMALL on the top half so I've had to take it in by a heck of a lot (thankfully I'm becoming incredibly good at taking in clothes since I refuse to buy a new wardrobe till I'm a size 12!) which was an amazing ego boost - not only is my fat-induced imprisonment at Evans over, but I have a fabby dress.

Still hate my upper arms (as do most women), so it's 2 months solid of gym work and if all else fail I've got a wrap to wear around them (will prob need it anyway for March). It's not the perfect wrap I want, what I really want is a pale cream faux fur one and I could make one myself fairly easily on the sewing machine if I can ever find somewhere that sells the right type of fabric!

I love it! My bridesmaids are wearing a very similar color, a bit lighter though.
Do you have a picture of you in the dress?

thats a great wedding dress and far nicer than pale colours if you ask me (i want red and black!). you will look amazing and well done for losing the weight but remember you can look and feel amazing whatever size you are so if you dont lose anymore dont worry and just relax and enjoy your special day as you are bound to look perfect!

are you going for an all purple theme or not?

Thanks guys - tartantotty - I found the sizing on them is generous to say the least, and incredibly ego flattering to say the most! I'm now a 22, but I've had to take the bust of my dress in a fair bit or risk a Judy Finnigan moment (which would make the wedding memorable!) - just worth bearing in mind - I could have easily got into the 20 in hindsight but wanted to be comfortable on my bottom half (why did my boobs have to be the first bit of weight to go - grrrrrr!).
