I was in a position off wanting to change my mortgage 5 years ago .I happened to find a company Inter Alliance on the internet .
The guy came to see me at home . .Before he arrived I had a chat with the Mortgage shop .the Mortgage shop told me about a good deal from the woolwich .
Inter Alliance man arrived ,Gave me the "we study the whole market "story .He wanted me to go to Abbey Nat or Nationwide .I said No to Abbey and Nationwide wanted a booking fee around £150 . I asked about the deal from the woolwich ,Inter alliance man (we study the whole market ) never heard off it .London & country will give you a quote over the Phone . They arranged a mortage with A&L for me ,but then advised me not to leave A&L when my discount period was up .( not money saving )

Ive got a mortgage with the first trust. 3 years interest only then 25 year repayment.

Im about a year and a half through my interest only bit and have been looking at other mortgages. The chelsea BS seem to be offering some pretty good deals but can someone tell me what are the cons of re-mortgaging? Im assuming there are fees of some description?

    many thanks.

fredy34 - you will have to look at your paperwork and look at the conditions attaching to your mortgage. Deals with the various banks and building societies are different.

I'd highly recommend London & Country (recommended by this site).

    http://www.lcplc.co.uk/standard_2_doc_columns_1.aspx?id=0:21990

Used them in the past couple of weeks to remortgage. Very helpful and explained things clearly and concisely.

Also did my own research on http://www.charcolonline.co.uk before ringing.

    Hi

Can anyone recommend a good mortgage advisor in the Bangor area please?
Preferably someone with a sympathetic ear for a first time buyer :)
    Cheers

I can highly recommend Ryan Hay from Independant Mortgages & Loans in Bangor. He arranged my re-mortgage in a very short space of time, as well as giving a raft of options and ideas that suited my needs. He was a joy to deal with and listened to my needs, as well as returned immediately any calls made when I wasn't able to get him first time. He also specialises in First time Buyer mortgages, as well as dealing in Commercial property mortgages as well. Give him a go - you won't regtret it! e-mail him at ryan@iml-ni.com.
