Wow, prices just keep on dropping! Anyone know if this printer has any major drawbacks, please?
[EDIT: it's £149 + VAT actually]Thanks to all who post constructively.

Plus Delivery Comes to £199 (almost) lol :P
We have one at work as it was cheap. It prints different shades of colours on ell the machines that are connected to it. Spent hours trying to get all the pcs's to print the same shade of colours (it's very noticeable). Same PCS with the same O/S. Even done fresh installs and tweaked with the colour settings on the software.
We normally get HP's and after this we will be sticking to them.
Apart from that it's ok.Smile and be happy, things can usually get worse!0 -
yeah i for got about the vat sorry.. bumps it up to £175 ..
the magenta toner is £85 .. but the rest are about £50 which is pretty cheap for laser toner..
misco are selling the printer for £2800 -
Drawbacks I can think of (which may or may not be important to you!) are:
no ethernet
can't add extra paper tray
no useful control panel (printer control done via host app on PC)
it's a 4 pass colour laser so will be slower
memory can't be expanded
consumables cost is high
oh and colour lasers are pretty useless at photo printing0 -
I have a Samsung laser printer that I grabbed last year when I saw it in PCWorld for just over forty quid, including two toner cartridges
However Jessica (11) moans like mad that we now have a printer that does smart letters, but can't print off her beautiful colourful works of art in all their glory
Sounds as if I'd be better going for something like an Epson R300, as we will hopefully be printing off colour pictures at some stage (when we can afford a decent digital camera)
Thanks anyway for the heads upThanks to all who post constructively.
