MORTGAGE ON NON-STD CONSTRUCTION PROPERTY- HELP!!

I have recently found a really nice house and been approved by a high street lender for a mortgage but they then changed their mind when their surveyor looked at the property, saying it is not their policy to lend on non-standard construction properties.
The house is, I understand, timber-clad on 2 sides, built in the late 60s, to a Canadian design. Other than this, it seems fairly standard!
Can anyone please recommend a good mortgage provider who deals with such properties?

You can normally ask the lender beforehand if it will be OK. They should be able to tell you.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
