Discount Magazine subscriptions-Cancelling and renewal...

First of all, i'm not sure if this is the right forum, so please move the thread if it isn't.........

I'm talking about those subscriptions like "3 issues for a £1, no obligation" that are often availiable online etc. I have signed up for a few of these and often cancel the direct debit right away as I don't want to continue the subscription. However if you want the magazine is this the cheapest way of subscribing to it? I.e. Cancelling the "3 issues for a £1" and then restarting it again?

Do these companies have procedures to stop this from happening or am I onto something?
