I normally use frizeez hair serum but i think ive damaged my hair a bit too much for it (to be honest this is a last ditched effot to save it before I have short summer hair
)
Im off to get some olive oil now.......:j Draco dormiens nunquam titillandus :j0 -
I find Superdrug coconut oil (comes in tubs and you melt by standing tub in hot water) really good. They also do a coconut oil conditioner for 99p, which is excellent for general use.0

Any conditioner applied to HOT hair (ie wet with the hottest water you can stand) then wrap in cling flim for 30 mins then a cool rinse. Repeat every other day for a week then weekly to maintain condition. My hairdresser swears by it & I must admit it does seem to make a difference.

It's happened to me before as well. There is no quick fix for badly damaged hair, unfortunately. You hve to nurture your hair for a while.
I did a deep condition twice a week: Mix a teaspoon of honey with two tablespoons of olive oil (not virgin) and one egg yolk, warm gently au bain marie while mixing (but be careful not to cook the egg!). Section your hair and apply with one of those flat brushes that hairdressers use for applying hair dye. Wrap hair in cling film and, if you can bear it in this heatwave, set your hairdryer to low and waft over your hair. Rinse and wash as normal.
Then in between deep treatments, I would use conditioner-only on alternate hair washes. On days I washed with shampoo, I would use a leave-in conditioner on the ends.Context is all.

Coconut oil is the best conditioner I have ever used for my long frizzy hair. I'm 43 and it honestly makes my long frizzes like a 20 something's. I use a little only on the dry part of my hair. You must use it when hair is still soaking wet. Coconut oil is much better than Frizzease even.0 -
Olive all massaged into the hair. Cover with cling film and wrap in a towel to heat up. Leave for about 20 minutes. Add shampoo directly onto the hair no water. then rince with water and wash as normal.
Absolutely - I've got the sort of hair you beat into submission rather than style. I do this all the time with my mistreated hair and it is great. My hairdresser also recommends this for dandruff if you rub it well into your scalp. But you MUST follow the instructions in bold! I favour a plastic shower cap rather than cling film but it comes out the same in the end. You can stick it on dry hair and leave it on all day whilst you're doing your household chores.
I also always use an intensive conditioner rather than just a normal one (I get what is on offer - I've tried all sorts of salon brands and they don't seem to be any better) and have recently been picking up one designed for afro-carribbean hair types. I just put them on in the shower for a few minutes and they seem to work fine.
All of that together with my lifesaver - John Frieda Serum for coarse hair (no other serum does it for me but stock up on 3for2 and extra points offers at Boots) - seems to work. Add that to my GHDs (sometimes moneysaving is about strategic investment), and no-one ever believes that I naturally have a nightmare blob of brunette cotton wool on top of my head!0
