Tables too cramped???

Hiya all - just wondered how many guests you are all "putting" around one table?

We are looking at having possibly 70 guests to the sit down meal.....i need to buy centrepieces asap so need to decide how many to buy...they aren't going to be very cheap so am thinking of doing what the venue suggested and putting 10 people on each table. The tables are 5foot round tables apparently and i am told that they seat 10 comfortably!?
Basically we can have 10 tables seating 7 or 7 tables seating 10....
This would be great because it would mean i could buy 8 centrepieces (one extra just in case LOL) and save about £50!

So - anyone had or having 10 people round a table??

Not for a wedding, but for a charity event - and they are mainly rugby players - so if I can fit 10 of them around a table, you won't have an issue...!!

    10 is the magic number.
8 and i think the guests are too spaced out.
We are having 70 guests too with 10 round each table.

  • I organise functions all the time and 10 is the perfect number for people on a table.

  • guess it depends on the size of the table?? we wanted to know how big our tables were as we're making table runners - the venue says they're 6ft & seat 10 comfortably. we're not having any rugby players though!!!!
