eyebrow waxing help

This is probably a very silly question but i will ask anyway....

My eyebrows are quite thick and i pluck them so they are thin but would like to get them waxed. Do i have to grow back the hairs back fully before i get them waxed? :o

many thanks :D

    Hiya,

Short answer is, no you don't :D You do need to grow them a little bit so that the wax can grip the hairs, but a couple of weeks' growth should do it.

    Hths?
  • it does help, thanks.
just worrying now about how awful they are going to look while growing them back :o and i dont even have a fringe to hide it....eeek

Oh, make no mistake about it, you'll probably even feel 'dirty' while they're growing in, it's horrid :o

But there's a cleanness with waxing that you don't get with tweezing due to all the hairs, like the fair ones you dont' really see but that do make a difference when they're not there.
  • the hairs may grow in a little bit finer if anything and may not look to dark or bushy, everyone is different though. i usually tweeze mine but i have some clients that get theirs done every 2 weeks and then once every 5 months!!

I have mine waxed every 6 weeks or so whilst I'm having my hair done. They generally look OK between but very occasionally I feel the need to whisk out a conspicuously regrown hair with the tweezers.

I do love the waxed look though - much neater than tweezers alone.

Damn you all!!! You made me look closer in mirror today with my spex on and realised they were badly needing done :rotfl: Now I have a bright red monobrow due to having extremely sensitive skin and a lunch date tomorrow, hope it's died down by then :rotfl:

I have mine waxed every 4 weeks to keep shape and to keep them tidy and I do pluck in between appointments because my eyebrows are thick and dark and I can't stand to see them growing back, the fine pale ones don't bother me though.
Usually 3-4 days without plucking gives enough growth for the waxing to be effective.

But you will have lovely neat brows for lunch tomorrow!:D
  • You should try threading. It's a much neater result plus the regrowth is less obvious and stubbley :)

I've been doing this lately and after some dodgy co-ordination with the thread and losing a fair bit of eyebrow because I wasn't paying enough attention I've got to say it's great :T

I've never had my eyebrows waxed and didn't fancy trying it because I've got quite sensitive skin. Threading is free (ish) as long as you've got thread lol and pretty easy once you get the hang of it. A good magnifying mirror is a good idea though ;)

Not sure if it's just me but I can't seem to get the thicker hairs and have to use tweezers for them, but the fine ones that I can't get with the tweezers are so easy to catch.
Even if you stumble, you're still moving forward.
