what if the new one is horrible?

what if they dont get a new one by our wedding...will it all go to pot?

    Don't panic!

Take a deep breath and try to think positivly! You may love the new wedding planner, don't take a dislike to her before you have met her just because she's not the old wedding planner! If than makes sense!

Try to set up a meetiing with the new planner as soon as possible and see how it goes! Has much been planned so far? Will the new one just be around on the day? (sorry just clocked your signature!) I guess most stuff has been done by now so the important planning has been done, it will just be on the day and final details, she may be great!

But most importantly - take a deep breath and don't panic!

sorry...i posted literally seconds after reading the email so i was in a bit of a panic and shock lol

i am going to contact the venue and ask what is happening between the one leaving and the other starting (as the email sounds like no one is lined up for the job at the moment and so just someone on reception is going to look after things????!!!!????)
and as you say ask for a meeting with whoever it is that will be there on the day

I think I would have been calmer about it if there was longer before the wedding so i would have time to sort things out with the new person

I was so calm about everything to do with the venue cus I trusted the wedding planner so much and now I just feel like its going to end up being a worry

sorry i have had a bad couple of days and this really hasnt helped lol

  • Don't worry about posting when you're having a wobble! I would/will be exactly the same! I think it will definetly put your mind at ease to go through everything with the new person taking over and make sure they understand every minute detail!

That certainly is a shocker, but they sound proffessional in the fact they have let everyone know and I am sure if one person is nice the rest of the staff will be as the employer obviously has good taste in hiring.

Let us know how you get on xxx

    Yellowbug, Whereabouts are you?
Seriously - take a deep breath, have a cuppa tea and then just relax.

Like the others have said, the bulk of the work has been done now, so although it's disappointing that the wedding planner is leaving, I am sure that she will have organised everything that she needed to before she goes.

    Deep Breaths....!!

It will be fine, the wedding planner has done all the important stuff already. Sure she will hand over to someone else. Totally understand your panic but sure it will be okay x

Totally see where you are coming from here. You can mentally prepare for so many things to go wrong, but then when something does that you are not ready for it knocks you back. I am sure Mr YB will arrive on his white steed and whisk you back into the land of not so stressed!!!

    It could be worse....

I came back from a holiday in October emailed my venue told them I wanted to finalise the quote, sign the paperwork and pay the deposit. My response was that I was to hold fire because things were rocky between the event organisers/caterers and the venue owners.
I had to keep chasing, finally I got told the managing director would be calling me. No phone call!!
So I chased again, no response from the wedding planner, so I tracked down the MD, finally had a response on 4 January!! Saying that the company I'd gone through had nothing to do with the venue anymore and I needed to contact the new people.
Finally managed to pin him down for a meeting so I could see what he was expecting compared to what we were expecting. Then he gave me 5 days!! to sign and send the deposit or we'd lose the date!!
So today the cheque has been sent!!
NIGHTMARE!! But it was the perfect venue so wanted to stick with it.

Turns out the old wedding planner is on maternity leave but the new orgainsers is after asking her to go and joy him!! Fingers crossed, because she was easy to get on with and OH actually knows her as he used to work with her!!
