How hard is it to make your own jewellry?

Hi fellow B2B's,
I have been searching everywhere for a nice 3 piece jewellry set for the big day, but there is nothing that warrants spending alot of money on. My tiara is made of Swaroski crystals, and would like it to maybe match.
Now, there are some on Ebay with the same crystal and was thinking this would probably work, but how easy would it be to DIY? I will look around for pricing and see if its worth it, but if anyone has any ideas that would be great!
Thanks

can you post photos of the style you are looking for?
some jewellery is pretty easy to make, some is difficult, so if you can show me what it is you are after I will try and give you some clues about making it

Do you think this would look ok for the necklace? I think the bracelet might be a bit OTT so any fashion advice would also greatly be appreciated

ok i cant see the bracelet.....my computer wont go to the site for some reason
but i can see the necklace and earrings
both look.........easy
do you have any jewellery making tools or supplies at all? just wondering about costs for you if you have to buy everything
how much are the pieces to buy ready made? (i expect the swarovski necklace is a lot of pennies
)
the necklace is basically a case of threading the beads on....then attaching the clasp
the earrings are similar, you get an earring bar/drop attach the bottom bead and fasten it in place then thread the other beads on, then attach the part you put through your ear (you could either have a post or a hook )Married on 5th March 2010still lurking on the wedding board tho :rotfl:0 -
Yes, they all look pretty simple, but depends on what supplies you have. I buy a lot of my beads from Beads Direct, they sell all the swarovski ones etc. There is also a video section (at the top) which gives you basic tutorials of how to do everything if your a beginner x0

WOW - thanks Toothfairy, there is anything and everything on that site!! I am composing a list as we speak!
I am pondering however, the Swaroski is more expensive than say the chzech beads. My tiara is Swaroski AB Crystals, so if I get other AB crystals do you think it will look totally out of place and silly? Hmmmm, for a total noob I have no idea
Princesswoo - Sounds like you are really crafty (in the craft sense)! Are you going to post pictures as they sound like they are going to be amazing!!!
Shel - Jewellery making does look so fun!! Will reply to your PM in a bit x0
